Design & Submittal Review
Many leaks and moisture problems can be caught on paper before they are ever built. We review the enclosure from the first wall type to the last shop drawing, so the details are buildable, sequenced correctly, and aligned with building-science best practices.

We work alongside the architect or engineer of record as an enclosure consultant. Our reviews focus on how water, air, heat, and vapor move through each assembly and, most of all, through the transitions where systems meet: window openings, deck and balcony connections, parapets, roof-to-wall intersections, and roof and wall penetrations.
We can start as early as Schematic Design, when choices about the cladding, the water-resistive barrier, and the insulation strategy determine the building's long-term performance and shape every detail that follows.
What's Included
- Schematic Design and Design Development review of wall, roof, and below-grade assemblies
- Construction Documents review with marked-up details and a summary of key recommendations
- Division 07 specification review of WRB, air barrier, flashing, sealant, roofing, and waterproofing products for compatibility, suitability for the climate, and installation limits such as cold or wet weather
- Submittal and shop drawing review to confirm proposed products match the specifications and installation details match the design intent
- RFI support during construction, answering enclosure questions on paper and in the field
How It Works
- KickoffWe confirm the assemblies, review phases, and project priorities with the design team.
- Phase ReviewsEach phase gets a marked-up set and a summary of key recommendations.
- Review MeetingWe walk the architect and contractor through the comments that matter most.
- Follow-Up ReviewOn the next drawing issue, we confirm earlier recommendations were considered and nothing slipped through the cracks.
Codes and Standards
Our comments are recommendations to the design team. The architect or engineer of record maintains full responsibility for the design.
